WTF Just Happened At The Oscars Tonight?

Watching the live presentations of the Oscars tonight, I found Will Smiths' reaction to Chris Rocks' joke interesting…

What Was The Joke?

Chris Rock said:

“Jada, I love you, G.I. Jane two, I can’t wait to see it.”

In hindsight, Rock should have done his research. Jada Pinkett Smith has been suffering from Alopecia which is an autoimmune disorder that causes hair loss.

So, to make an insensitive joke about her shaved head was definitely inappropriate.

What TF Just Happened?

Well, when Chris Rock made his joke about Jada Pinkett Smith, the cameras showed Will Smith laughing, and Jada rolling her eyes. It was only a few seconds later that Smith approached Rock onstage and delivered that fateful slap.

“Wow, Will Smith just smacked the sh** out of me.”

What changed from that laughing image of Smith to him stepping up to the stage and slapping Chris Rock?
