Why Reading “How I Make Money” Blogs Are a Waste of Your Time
They’re just clickbait dressed as advice
You’ve seen them, and I’m sure you’ve read them. The smug “How I Made $X in 30 Days” blog posts that pop up on Medium or Substack like weeds. The headlines scream promise, but the articles? Pure fluff. Zero strategy, zero honesty — just recycled bragging rights.
I’ll admit it: I’ve been sucked in, too. I’ve clicked those shiny titles hoping for a roadmap, only to end up scrolling through paragraphs of clickbait, vague advice, and humblebrags. It’s the junk food of online writing — it fills you for a second, but there’s no real substance.
That’s why I’m having this rant. No hype, no “I made a million overnight” fairy tales. Just the real truth: why those blogs are a waste of your time, and what to pay attention to instead if you actually want clarity and results.
They’re Just Bragging in Disguise
Income reports are basically humblebrags in blog form. All they do is focus on the writer’s ego instead of giving you strategies you can actually use. Instead, follow people who show the how (processes, tools, steps) not just the what (dollar figures).
