Today I Realised How Much I Miss Human Interaction
This morning I went to my Pilates class, just like I normally do most mornings. I look forward to this class as it’s my chance to get a workout in before breakfast and also to speak to people “in real life”. It’s a chance to get some exercise in before I settle in for a day of work.
For those of you who don’t know me, I quit my day job a year ago and have been freelancing as a Social Media Manager, and Virtual Assistant ever since. This means I am in my home office (spare bedroom) on my computer for hours at a time.
But, don’t worry, I love solitude and being able to do my thing without too many distractions. The fact that I am no longer being verbally abused by customers on a daily basis is a plus. But “Bones” does tend to interrupt sometimes. (Today he’s dressed in a TuTu and baseball cap).
But, one thing I have noticed is my lack of human contact. In my previous job, I was front and centre, signing up new customers to the business membership program and helping those customers with their membership issues.
Now, if it wasn’t for my partner, my pilates classes and going shopping for groceries, I might not connect with a human face-to-face for days.
