It’s been said that most Medium writers get more reads and earn more when their stories are published by popular publications.
I’ll admit, I have some favourite Pubs that I love to write for. I’ve been lucky that most of my stories have been published in less than 24 hours. In fact, I’ve never had a Pub reject a story.
What do you do when you’ve been waiting for more than 48 hours?
- Do you withdraw your story and submit it to another publication?
- Or do you withdraw your story and publish it yourself?
I realise that some people have waited up to a month for a story to be published. And, I totally understand if that’s what you want to do. I’m not that patient.
I’d rather see my stories go out to the Medium world within 24 hours, which is probably not very realistic. But, I do feel that it’s especially important for an article to be published within a 24-hour time frame if the article itself is somewhat time-sensitive.
So, after waiting more than 48 hours for one Pub to publish an article this past week, I withdrew it and published it myself.
