RIP Taylor Hawkins
Foo Fighters are my absolute favourite band. I can’t even count how many times I’ve seen them live in concert. I’ve attended their concerts in Las Vegas, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Imagine my shock and disbelief when I heard just a couple of hours ago that their beloved drummer Taylor Hawkins had died suddenly.
While he was an amazing drummer, he was an awesome person as well.
I still have vivid memories of joining a Craps game at the Hard Rock Casino in Vegas, right before Foo Fighters were about to go on stage at Wasted Space.
After getting ready in my hotel room, (and after a few too many drinks), I headed down to the casino for a quick punt before the concert.
I squeezed my way onto the Craps table, threw my money onto the felt and awaited my chips. My mate next to me, nudged me in the ribs and said, “Have you noticed who’s here?”
Foo Fighters were on the table playing Craps as well!
They had no problem hanging out with the general public. They were friendly and relaxed. Nobody bothered them…
