How To Travel For Free Through Austria
Imagine enjoying free train travel through beautiful Austria with Klimaticket (Climate Ticket) for one year!
Well, this became a reality for a handful of lucky festival goers in Austria when they agreed to have “Klimaticket” permanently tattooed on their person.
Austria’s climate minister Leonore Gewessler recently launched an initiative at a local music festival, offering free unlimited travel with the public train service Klimaticket.
What was the catch?
Those volunteers received their one year pass only after having “Klimaticket” permanently tattooed on their person.
What is Klimaticket?
Klimaticket is an eco-friendly public train service with a focus on reducing emissions.
A yearly Klimaticket pass usually costs just over 1,000 euros for unlimited rail, bus, tram and metro travel throughout the country.
While many people opted for a tattoo at the festivals, the free rail travel, however, was limited to the first three people who got the Klimaticket design at each event.
