How To Say Goodbye To Negative Thoughts
I hate to admit this, but in recent days I’ve been suffering from some negative thoughts. It happens to me sometimes, usually, it comes with being overwhelmed with “stuff” or just feeling lonely.
In the past, I’ve been able to quell these thoughts with something positive, but honestly, these past few days, I preferred to dwell on them.
Well, no more!
I’ve made a list of ways for me to banish these thoughts before they mess too much with my head and emotions.
Comparisonitis
I often find myself comparing my achievements to that of others. And when I do this, I feel like a complete failure. Everyone else seems to always do so much better than me. They’re more successful, more popular, have more of what you want. It’s so draining.
So, to get past comparisonitis, I’ve learnt to list the things I’m grateful for. I’ve even created a “Happiness Jar”. In my Happiness Jar are small notes I’ve written to myself. Some of these notes are positive comments and loving words that friends and clients have said to me.
When I’m suffering from comparisonitis, I go to my Happiness Jar and choose a note.
