How To Save A Deleted Draft On Medium

First, there’s no need to panic

The other day I had almost finished my story of more than 400 words when I accidentally deleted the WHOLE DAMN THING!

I’d spent over an hour writing and editing the story when I found a phrase I wanted to delete.

I highlighted the phrase and pressed delete.

It was only then that I realised I’d highlighted and deleted the entire work above that phrase.

Of course, that phrase I wanted to delete was at the END of my story!

• I panicked
• I got angry
• Then I nearly cried

I use Chrome on my desktop, so I went to Edit and Undo hoping that would bring my story back.

Nope. That didn’t work.

I did it again.

And again.

Holy cow! I’ve lost my entire story!

I then went up to the three dots to see if there was anything in the dropdown menu.
