America Profits At Australia’s Expense

Australia And China Trade War Intensifies

Australia has numerous allies in the form of the US, Canada and New Zealand, but it seems that amid the ongoing trade war with China, Australia's allies are making a killing.

Australia’s exports to China including coal, barley, beef, timber, lobster and wine, have plummeted by an astonishing $17.3 billion by the third quarter of 2021.

But, the US, Canada and New Zealand have enjoyed good fortune at Australia’s expense.

  • US exports increased by $A6.3 billion
  • Canada’s exports by $A1.5 billion
  • New Zealand’s exports by $A1.1 billion.

It appears that these “key friends” are advancing their own commercial interests, by grabbing lost Australian sales and increasing their trade with the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

And to top it off, Australia’s “allies” are also failing to buy from us when we need the support most.

Beijing began favouring Australia for trade punishment in May 2020. Here are just some of the actions affecting Australian exports:
